Greetings from Bloomberg
I've taken a step out of business journalism and into Ideas & Culture
It’s been <checks notes> about 2 1/2 years since I last sent out a note to this list, about the publication of my book. (Which is still available! I think it’s held up pretty well — the big theme of the pandemic ushering in extreme volatility and unpredictability, to both the downside and the upside, can definitely be seen in the era of Trump presiding over a stock market at record highs.)
Since then I’ve left Axios and joined Bloomberg, where I’ve started writing a weekly newsletter from the Pursuits team. It’s totally free, so sign up here. If you want to check out prior issues, my first was on the Louvre heist, my second was on a solid-gold toilet, and my third was on Zohran Mamdani. I’m still finding my sea legs though so all feedback is welcome!
I’ve written other articles too, most recently a review of the new cybertruck JPMorgan HQ on Park Avenue. If you read to the end you’ll be rewarded with a terrible pun. I also wrote up a wonderful trip I took around Italy in 2022.
I’d encourage you to buy a Bloomberg subscription — you might be surprised how affordable it is. With that you get access to other stuff I’ve written, like pieces on Labubus, auction design, and minimalism. And I reviewed a book about the posthumous career of Jean-Michel Basquiat.
As ever, stay in touch. I love story ideas!
